With You in Mind offers three distinct styles of massage therapy: Clinical Massage Therapy, Relaxation Massage Therapy or a Combination of both.
Clinical massage allows the therapist to address the deeper muscles of the body. The therapist has extensive training in massage along with knowledge of anatomy and physiology and can address 'range of motion limitations' by using a variety of techniques. Heat may be applied along with a cold pack or hydrotherapy to relax the muscles and make them more responsive to the work. Often times, a therapist will recommend exercises and stretches for the client to work on at home thereby empowering the client with the ability to stay pain free.
Relaxation massage offers gentle techniques. The goal, or intention, of relaxation massage is to reduce stress, promote overall wellness, relax muscles, diminish pain, and to improve circulation of blood and lymph through out the body to nourish cells and help remove waste products. Warm towels and or hot stones may be used to gently coax muscles to relax and to promote relaxation.
Combination massage offers the best of both worlds. A soothing session providing stress relief while seamlessly paying special attention to areas of muscle dysfunction.
